Kronplatz – Camping Ansitz Wildberg – Day 1

We arrived in Sankt Lorenzen yesterday, after a super quick stop in Innsbruck, where we mainly just walked around the old town centre close to the river Inn and had some lunch.

Today it was about to explore the downhill / freeride offerings at Kronplatz.

What a view from Kronplatz on the Dolomites! This is why I love being in the mountains.

We spent the day (for Frido – not a half day!) riding the Gassl, 2 x Furcia and finally the more difficult Herrnsteig trail. In total a decent of 3474 height meters on one day.
The Herrnsteig trail was quite challenging on some sections, and I guess I am now much more confident riding quite steep switchbacks with stones, roots or both in it :-).
The jump options on the trail were really fun.

Considering that this is day 5 of our trip and the confidence I currently have on riding difficult sections, I am really looking forward to the days in Vinschgau and Finale Ligure.
So the major goal is still to have fun riding but to stay safe.

Tomorrow the bikes will rest, the plan is to go hiking.
